HOW IT WORKS A program called the "Backup
Taxi Client" is installed on your computer by yourself or one of our technicians.
-
You
then select the folders and files that you want to have backed
up. Every night, when your computer is not in use, the client program searches your entire hard disk for
any new or changed files, based upon your selection criteria. Once the files are located, a copy of each one is
encrypted,
using a password known only by you, and then compressed to
about one half its original size. Next,
the encrypted and compressed copies of your selected files are sent securely out over your high-speed Internet connection to the BACKUP TAXI servers. The files are
then stored on the BACKUP TAXI servers in their encrypted form with coded names that are completely different from their original names.
No one but you can
view or retrieve those files. Whenever you want to
restore one or more of your files back to your computer, simply launch the "Restore" feature in the client program on your computer and select the files you want.
Your files are uncompressed and decrypted only after they
arrive at your computer. BACKUP TAXI is easy, secure and reliable. You'll wonder why
you didn't start using it sooner!
